Exhale Bikes History

Seems like a short time, but it was back in 1990 that I went into a shop called Excellent Bikes to get different tires for my bike. Met a man named Raul ODonnal, and that changed my life. I went from bodybuilding to bicycle racing in the blink of an eye.

I was team captain for the racing team for two years 1991 through 1992. Life went on, I was always working in finance but still kept in touch with Raul and his employees.

In 1993 they opened a new shop in North Phoenix located at Bell Road and I-17. That's when they hired a young employee Jessie-Nathan Andrews aka Nate. Nate took control of the shop and became the vital pulse of Excellent Bikes until he became the owner of the shop in 2005, which also resulted in a name change to Exhale Bikes.

What Nate did for the MBAA and NICA racing community was beyond impressive. I was persuaded into racing again and maybe helping out 1-2 days a week at the shop.............  That never happened.

Being in my mid 40's at the time, I was trying to figure out what i would do when I grew up. So, I just started training and working for the shop. It ended up being a full time job. I met some of the most amazing people in the bicycling community. Which gave me the opportunity to train and win with some of the best people.

Now in 2023 I hope to continue the Exhale legacy as the new owner of Exhale Bikes
